Pradosha Pooja is a sacred ritual dedicated to Lord Shiva, performed during the twilight period on the 13th day (Trayodashi) of each lunar fortnight. It is believed to wash away sins, remove obstacles, and grant spiritual progress. This pooja invokes the divine blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati for peace, protection, and overall well-being. Performing Pradosha Pooja brings inner strength, mental clarity, and harmony in life, while opening the path to liberation (moksha).

Process

  • Offerings of Bilva leaves, flowers, fruits, and incense are made with chanting of Shiva mantras.
  • The pooja concludes with Shiva Aarti and distribution of Prasad, seeking divine mercy and grace.

  • Shiva Lingam or image of Lord Shiva
  • Bilva (Bel) leaves, white flowers, and sandalwood paste
  • Milk, curd, honey, ghee, and water for Abhishekam
  • Incense sticks, camphor, ghee lamps (deepam)
  • Fruits, sweets, dry fruits, and Naivedyam
  • Bell, conch (Shankha), and pooja thali
  • Clean white cloth or dhoti for pooja setup
